Circa 1961
This item is in Good Used Condition. This is the first year of production Auto Messer. We know this from the etching on the blade. The etching reads Schütz und Hilft meaning in English, Protect and Help. This was the idea behind the model for motorists. The next year, Auto Messer was moved forward to the front of the knife and the Schütz und Hilft etching was removed. Büssing was a German company that probably ordered some of these models to give as gifts to employees or lucky customers. The company name was put on the finger guard.
A nice used knife with a lot of life left in it for someone looking for a good knife at a reasonable price.
