Circa 1950s-1970s
This item is in Mint Condition. This is a beautiful and an old knife. It goes by several names. Saufänger, Saustecker, Extension Knife, and Pig Sticker. It has several uses. It can be used in the folded position as a sheath knife or the blade can be extended. This way, the blade is used to make the final kill, namely on Boars. The long blade is inserted into the vitals. This is a companion knife to the Saufeder, the Boar Spear, commonly used in Europe to hunt Boars, and usually with Dogs. While the spear brings the boar down, the knife is sometimes used to finish off the animal.
This particular knife is the model with Crossguards. One of the common complaints on this knife is the hand slipping down from the handle to the blade. Especially when cold and wet. Early models did not have the hand guard. They came both ways, with or without the guard.
This knife appears, never used with only minor handling marks on the blade. The sheath has several small dents in the metal tip to the sheath.

Someone alerted me to a crack in the stag near the rear pin. I have adjusted the price accordingly.
