Control Number: Pre64
Made before October 1964
This item is in near-mint condition. This is an early Waidmesser in really nice condition.
There are some light handling marks and possibly this was lightly sharpened at some point.
The blade has a bright mirror finish and the etching is bright and beautiful. The sheath also has some leather nicks and scratches from handling and storage. This pattern model has been very popular over the years, especially in Europe. Waidmesser means Hunter’s Knife. Waidmesser für Schalenwild means Hunter’s knife for Hooved Animals. Deer and the Alpine goats such as the Gams / Chamois fall into this category. Take a look at the photos and you will see just how nice this one is.
